Roswell High School Hires New Counselor for Student Services

waring-3ps-lr.jpegMarch 22, 2019 –Roswell High School is excited to welcome a new member to our Student Services team. Jan Waring brings to Roswell High School a proven track record of helping students succeed.

Most recently, Waring worked in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She specialized in working with families, couples and individuals, and taught parenting classes, focusing on those parents who had students with special needs. Her most recent in-school positions include counselor at High Point Elementary in Sandy Springs and special education teacher at Roswell North Elementary.

Waring holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Suffix University and two master’s degrees from Georgia State University, one in Learning Disabilities and one in School Counseling. Waring also earned her Specialists Degree in Counseling from Georgia State University, and has completed the course work in the doctoral program for Counseling Education and Supervisions at Argosy University in Atlanta.

“Mrs. Waring will not have an assigned case load, but will assist our other six counselors so the entire team can continue to assist our students who need additional mental health support,” explained Principal Dr. Robert Shaw. “I especially want to thank Fulton County Schools for helping us obtain this addition support for our students.”
