Announcements 04/11/19

Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, the School Governance Council has approved the adoption of the Universal Fitness Waiver. One of the
biggest changes is that students must successfully complete 2 seasons of a GHSA sanctioned sport or marching band to waive Personal Fitness.
The new waiver guidelines will not allow students to use prior years activities to meet the requirement. Students eligible for a personal fitness waiver
under the current waiver guidelines are strongly encouraged to submit their Personal Fitness Waiver form to Student Services by May 23, 2019 to take
advantage of the current waiver requirements.

Students, summer school registration is now open for Fulton Virtual School and face-to-face classes at Milton High School. Summer school brochures are
now available in the Student Services office. The brochure includes the list of courses available and explains the registration process. Pick up one today!

The annual Day of Silence is almost here! On this day, students and others nationwide band together to draw attention to anti-LGBTQ bullying and
harassment in schools. Students who choose to go silent are commemorating those who have been silenced by bullying, harassment, and violence.
Students can stop by Ms. Volpert room, D-106, this Friday morning to pick up arm bands that say “silent” or a rainbow ribbon to express support.

Students, the lost and found bin in the cafeteria is overflowing. Please check the bin if you have lost any items. After Friday, April 19th, all items in the bin
will be donated.

Colorguard Auditions for the Roswell Marching Band will take place on April 15 and April 16 from 6:30 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. No experience is necessary.
Please wear atheltic clothing for the auditions.
Colorguard does count as P.E. Credit if you complete 2 years! Come and join the FAMILY!!

Come out on Friday to support the soccer teams as they take on Walton in a huge region match up at home! We need to pack the stands and be loud!
The first 100 students to come through the gate will get in for FREE! That’s right, FREE ADMISSION to the first 100 students in the gate! Kickoff is at 5:55
for the girls and stay for the boys who kickoff at 7:55!

Be sure to come out and see this year’s Short Attention Span Theatre Festival Thursday and Friday at 7:30pm in the Auditorium. This Festival is
completely student written, directed, and produced, and includes 5 different 10 minute plays. Tickets are only $5 so make to come out and support the

Your car will be towed!

Seniors- You are required to complete an online senior check-out form. The link is available on the Roswell and Student Services website. This form and
the Senior Exit Survey are both required for graduation and are completed online. See your counselor if you have any questions.

Have you seen the movie Love, Simon? Have you read the book Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda? Are you interested in what it takes to publish a
novel in the real world? You should hear this! The RHS VOX is proud to announce that New York Times Best Selling author Becky Albertalli is going to
be a guest speaker on Monday, April 15th during 4th period. She will speak during 4th period A and B with Q&A to follow in the auditorium, and she’ll also
autograph any her books for you. Per your teacher’s permission, all are welcome to attend! See Mrs. Bregeth in E105 for more information.

Attention Roswell! The Black Student Union will be having its final meeting of the year this Thursday, April 11th at 3:40 PM. Come to AA21 as we
recognize our graduating seniors and elect officers for the new year!

It’s time for all the fast runners at RHS to make themselves known! If you are interested in running cross country next year there will be an informational
meeting for new runners in room F128 at 8:00 AM on Friday. We will let you know about summer runs and tell you about the requirements for joining the
team. This meeting is for runners who have not run cross country at Roswell before.

Key Club will have a meeting on Tuesday, April 16 at 8AM in F114. Please bring your service hours to this meeting. Please let Mrs. Boyd know if you are
interested in a leadership position in the club next year.

Attention AP Students – Pre-bubbling will begin on Tuesday, April 9 in Portable 4 during 4th period and runs until Friday, April 19. You may come during
your study hall or lunch but you must come and fill out the answer sheets for the AP exam and to pick up your Student Pack. This is important so make
sure that you get the forms filled out.

Prom is this Saturday April 13th at the windward Marriott. Tickets are bring sold online only and are $65 if you’ve paid class dues and $70 if you have not.
Tickets can be picked up at the front office. You must have a paper or electronic copy of your receipt. Students bringing a guest from another school
must also submit a signed guest form when picking up your tickets.

Seniors – If you are interested in Gwinnett Technical College, they will be here April 11th for a FREE application day! Sign up in Student Services to
attend during your lunch.
