Please note: This is NOT REQUIRED for any student, parent or staff; however, there may be some new students, parents or staff who are interested in updates from last year’s presentation regarding Common Sense Media. During the previous year the day before the deployment of the Surface 3 devices, some of the Nest Team students made a brief presentation regarding the use of the Surface 3 devices and Digital Citizenship.
A few student assistants with the Nest Team and the MTC staff will be sharing the Nest Team web site, several PowerPoint presentations from Common Sense Media and general discussion questions regarding Digital Citizenship. The required workshop is to be held in the RHS Media Tech Center on Thursday, 3-21-2019 from 12 to 1:30 PM. Personal Fitness Waiver Update
Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, the School Governance Council has approved the adoption of the Universal Fitness Waiver. There are a few key differences from the waiver currently in place (and expiring in May 2019) and we want to ensure everyone has the information in a timely manner.
New Personal Fitness Waiver requirements beginning fall 2019:
1. Successful completion of 2 seasons of a GHSA sanctioned sport (not including One-Act
2. Successful completion of 2 seasons of marching band
3. Successful completion of 3 credits of JROTC
The new waiver guidelines will not allow students to use prior years activities to meet the requirement. Beginning in fall 2019, all students who want to apply for a waiver will only be able to use completed seasons from fall 2019 and later. As a reminder, waiver requirements must be completed by the end of fall semester of senior year. Students eligible for a personal fitness waiver under the current waiver guidelines are strongly
encouraged to submit their Personal Fitness Waiver form to Student Services by May 23, 2019 to take advantage of the current waiver requirements.
