New Student Registration in June
Welcome to the Hornet Nation, we are excited to have you join our community. New student registration in June will be offered on June 11, 13, and 18 during regular office hours. Roswell High School summer office hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 9am-12pm and 1pm-3pm. Families are advised to pick up a registration packet prior to coming in to register to save time. Packets are available in the front office. Registration will be available on a first come, first served basis so appointments are not required.
In order to process the student registration, all Fulton County required enrollment documents are required at registration time. Please review the required list here: http://roswellstudentservices.weebly.com/new-student-enrollment.html
Families are also encouraged to review the RHS Course Catalog to review academic and elective course selections prior to registration. Please find the course information here: https://roswellhornets.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/RHS-Course-Catalog-2019-2020.pdf. Counselors will not be available to meet with families regarding course selection so a best practice would be to ask the current school for academic course recommendations prior to coming to registration.
Information regarding August registration dates will be posted at a later time, please check the Roswell High School website for information. We can’t wait to meet you in August 2019!

Are you worried your loved one will only watch Netflix all summer? Do you want your loved one to use some free time to refresh and strengthen some Language Arts concepts for the next step? Enroll in an ELA Essentials micro class! It’s only 3 days long, and it’s FULLY online (and accessible via an app, too!). Students have lifetime access to all of the lessons. Depending on students’ entry level, the class can keep their brains fresh for their next ELA class, or it can give them tips on how to tackle the essentials of ELA—a range of concepts from thesis statements to grammar and argumentative strategies to rhetorical devices. How does it work? After the student enrolls, he or she will get a few new lessons and videos each day for 3 days. If the student needs more time to finish the class, it’s totally fine! This no-stress class is designed to be bite-sized and helpful to our busy students who also have other things going on. Who is teaching the class? Mrs. Bregeth, a veteran RHS ELA teacher of 14 years who has taught all ELA levels—regular, honors, and AP. Email Mrs. Bregeth at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about this flexible class: http://writingsimplified.teachable.com $49

Personal Fitness Waiver Update
Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, the School Governance Council has approved the adoption of the Universal Fitness Waiver. There are a few key differences from the waiver currently in place (and expiring in May 2019) and we want to ensure everyone has the information in a timely manner.
New Personal Fitness Waiver requirements beginning fall 2019:
1. Successful completion of 2 seasons of a GHSA sanctioned sport (not including One-Act
2. Successful completion of 2 seasons of marching band
3. Successful completion of 3 credits of JROTC
The new waiver guidelines will not allow students to use prior years activities to meet the requirement. Beginning in fall 2019, all students who want to apply for a waiver will only be able to use completed seasons from fall 2019 and later. As a reminder, waiver requirements must be completed by the end of fall semester of senior year. Students eligible for a personal fitness waiver under the current waiver guidelines are strongly
encouraged to submit their Personal Fitness Waiver form to Student Services by May 23, 2019 to take advantage of the current waiver requirements.
